Legacy Custom Shop to Cease Operations

Woodward, OK – March 24^th 2026– After making their mark internationally in the custom car and motorcycle world for three decades, Covington’s Customs is to close. Jerry and Kathleen Covington had been talking about retiring in recent years but hadn’t decided to make the change. Jerry’s passing on October 9, 2024 hastened that process for Kathleen. The company’s last day of operation is April 17^th, 2026.

The Covingtons opened their shop in 1994, mostly buying and selling stock Harley-Davidson motorcycles. But if you knew Jerry Covington, he was never happy with “stock.” Once Jerry built his first custom from the ground up, it garnered media attention and the business exploded from there.
 
 After the first few years, Covington’s moved to a new location and expanded by adding a complete paint and body shop and machine shop all on the same block. A line of aftermarket parts and accessories followed, along with appearances at major motorcycle events worldwide, including The Discovery Channel’s Biker Build-off.
 
 “We started out with literally nothing but Jerry’s tools, his truck, one chair and a used refrigerator,” said Kathleen. “We were young and didn’t know what the future held for us but we never let up! We weren’t afraid to take on challenges - and there were a lot of those!”
 
 Added Kathleen, “We can’t express how much we appreciate the support we have had over these 30 years. And to our industry family: we will be forever grateful and thankful for your friendship.”
